With detours in effect in West Reading for the two-year Buttonwood Street Bridge reconstruction project, borough officials wondered how a bike race planned for September would affect traffic.
The Reading 120 is planned to take Penn Avenue through the borough on Sept. 12. Race organizers have asked the borough for permission to temporarily close the avenue and restrict parking that day.
Council had mostly positive comments about the race at its meeting Tuesday night.
